Zoom video conferencing app adds new features like filters, Reactions, Lighting and more in its latest update

Zoom and other video-conferencing apps have become the savior of this pandemic, as everyone is being forced to stay and work from home. As the company says Zoom’s business strategy focuses on providing an easier to use product than competitors, as well as cost savings, which include minimizing computational costs at the infrastructure level and having a high degree of employee efficiency.

The video-conferencing app has now added new amazing features that now allow you to use Filters, Reactions, Noise Cancellation for a better experience. The popular video conferencing platform has introduced these new features with its latest version 5.2.

“We believe that people connect better on video, but feeling connected when working from home is still challenging. The casual and fun elements that bring us together in the office seem to be missing from virtual meeting culture … until now.” said the company in its latest blog post “Zoom wants to empower you to feel your best in virtual meetings, express your individuality, and build moments of fun into your day with some new features that uplevel your video game. Zoom filters, reactions, improved lighting capabilities, and enhanced noise suppression make sure that wherever and however you meet, it’s more fun with Zoom!”

The new video filters feature allows you to use filters such as unicorn horns, pirate eye patches, and aerospace goggles. There are several new color filters as well, including the cinnamon effect, the sepia effect, and the seafoam effect to reflect the mood you’re in.

There is also a new Reactions button that has been added in the bottom tab to allow users to react with emojis on their screen. Options like Thumbs Up, Clap, LOL, Shocked, and Ta-da are offered as the default reactions.

Taking about the new noise cancellation feature is located in a new option called ‘suppress background noise’ which can be found in the Video Settings > Audio section. You can also toggle between high or low, depending on your preference. You can also change the brightness of your panel and amount of skin smoothing to put your best video frame forward, using the touch-ups and lighting adjustment feature.
