United Nations official filmed with an alleged sex worker in the car; probe launched after video goes viral
The world is in an economic slowdown and many countries are fighting the dreaded coronavirus pandemic around the world. In Asia, the belligerent Chinese government is creating problems for India in the northern part of Ladakh at Galwan Valley. This is the time we expect some leadership from the top United Nations officials to calm the nerves and soothe swathes of humans impacted by a global disease and slowdown. And guess what United Nations officials are doing?
A United Nations official was filmed with an alleged sex worker, conducting sexual acts in the backseat of a UN car in Israel’s Tel Aviv. A video of the man, allegedly a UN delegation member has taken the internet by a storm. The report states that the plate of the car belongs to the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation (UNTSO).
In the viral video, a woman in a red dress is seen straddling the man’s lap. And from the movement, it seems the two people are involved in some sort of conjugal activity. A bald man sitting in the front seat is visible in the clip. However, there is no information on whether the activity involved payment or if it was consensual.
The video is filmed on the main street by Tel Aviv’s seafront in Israel by an unknown onlooker. After the video went viral on the internet, the United Nations came in with an expected apology.
We are deeply disturbed by content of video apparently involving personnel from #UNTSO. An investigation was swiftly launched & is moving very quickly. Appropriate action will be taken.

Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesman for the UN’s Secretary-General, António Guterres, described the 18-second video as “abhorrent” and said that kind of behavior “goes against everything we stand for and have been working to achieve in terms of fighting misconduct by UN staff.” Dujarric added that the individuals in the video will be identified soon and the process will be concluded as early as possible.
However, the video begs to be asked a bigger question. Is the United Nations relevant in the post-corona world? Is a world body with veto powers to 5 countries, the United States, United Kingdom, France, China, and Russia relevant in today’s world?
Out of these countries, Russia is no longer the power it used to be and China’s belligerent attitude is causing problems for not only India but its Eastern neighbors as well. Chinese state-sponsored hackers are wreaking havoc in Europe. France and the United Kingdom are no longer the colonial powers they were in 1945when the United Nations was formed.
India, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, South Africa are the new global powerhouses fueling the world economy. Yet, they have no say in world affairs. The World Health Organisation has proved incompetent during the Coronavirus pandemic, pussyfooting the Chinese stand and hiding the origins of the dreaded disease.
It is time to disband the United Nations and form a new world body that incorporates the will and wishes of the majority of the world.
