Numerous Vodafone Idea users were charged Rs 99 for International Roaming pack by a technical glitch in the company
Several customers using Vodafone Idea as their telephone network were affected by a technical glitch in the companies system today. The Technical glitch in the system accidentally charged its users Rs 99 for an International Roaming pack that is valid for 30 days. Well if you look at the Vodafone Idea twitter account, the customers have repeatedly tweeted about the issue and are getting very angry. While some of the customers also said that they will leave the company network if they do not respond and take any action on the matter as soon as possible.
The customers have been clueless after the issue, while some customers that have been affected by the glitch called the customer care service and were guided that the amount that has been deducted will be refunded in 24 hrs. The customers who got affected by the glitch received a message saying “Dear Customer, this is to inform you that a rental amount of Rs 99 has been deducted toward International Roaming Rental for 30 days.”
Later a Vodafone Idea spokesperson said that the amount has been erroneously charged due to technical glitch and the amount will be credited back to all users who have faced the issue.
Hi! We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Due to a technical error, Rs 99 has been erroneously charged on your prepaid number. We are crediting the amount to your account. We solicit your cooperation. Stay Home and Stay Safe!
the telco tweeted in response to one user’s complaint.
Value-Added Services like International roaming requires the consumer to use the MyVodafone app or SMS ACT IR to 144 or speak with customer care in order to provide consent. Well according to Vodafone Idea the pack cannot be activated if your account does not have sufficient balance, but some customers that had complained the local vendors said that their account balance has gone negative.
Well if your account balance gets negative in balance you won’t be able to call anyone even after the unlimited pack is activated. In response to tweets, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) said that the issue has been forwarded to the concerned TSP/division for necessary action.
As the customer care service has said that the deducted amount will be refunded in 24 hrs its nothing to panic about. To stay updated on Tech and Cybersecurity news subscribe to our newsletter from here
