Xiaomi is known to bring exceptional features on its Android smartphones at cheap prices. While its phones have boasted of their performance and hardware, the camera has in general been a bit of a disappointment. Even its top Redmi Note 3 had great specifications but clicked average images. Later, phones like Mi Max and Redmi 3S did not do much to improve Xiaomi’s image. While the Xiaomi Mi 5 rivaled the OnePlus 3, it failed in the camera department. However, now all Xiaomi Redmi and other Android smartphones can have the best quality Google Camera HDR port with this hack.

Do remember this hack required your Xiaomi Redmi smartphone to be rooted

The Google Camera HDR+ hack was developed by our friends at the XDA Forums and can be used on any rooted Xiaomi Redmi smartphone. The hack needs you to root your Xiaomi Redmi smartphone and change the enable Camera2 API to get the best quality Google Camera HDR+ on your smartphone.

Also, remember this hack works only on smartphones which come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820/821 and 835 processors

You can download the Google Camera HDR+ Mod from here. The latest version 4.0 is available here. The best part of the software is that you will not have to change the settings manually. It is normally integrated with your camera app and works smoothly. However, you will still need to root your device, which is not a highly recommended process.

The mod also works on other Android smartphones powered by Snapdragon 820/821 and 835 processors as given below:

LG G6
OnePlus 3
OnePlus 3T
OnePlus 5
Samsung Galaxy S8

However, if you are happy with your above smartphone cameras you needn’t go for the mod. If you want to, do remember, you will still need to root your device, which is a bit of nerdy process.
