AV-TEST has conducted a six-month endurance test on various Android anti-virus Apps to determine just how advanced the current security products for Android really are. Google uses its in-house malware testing service called Google Play Protect which blacklists Apps that have malware or steal user information. But Google Play Protect is not all that perfect that is why we read about how malware-laden Apps continue to be distributed through Google Play Store,

AV-TEST decided to test these 13 anti-virus Apps for Android smartphones. The Android anti-virus App endurance test was conducted using devices running on Android 8.0 and the testing included 10,000 newly infected apps and a reference set of 10,000 older and existing infected apps.

The above five Android anti-virus Apps scored the maximum 18 points that AV-Test gives. They received 6 points for protection, 6 points for performance, and 6 points for usability.

In addition to the above anti-virus Apps, AV-TEST also conducted similar tests for Google Play Protect.
