Utah Judge Hogan gives Crypto CEO, Douglas Saltsman gets just 210 days jail sentence for the heinous crime of pedophilia and Beastiality

Sometimes we get a feeling that our justice system is a joke. Rapists and child abusers escape with a light sentence while the same justice system awards life imprisonment for hacking and data breach crimes. This was repeated in Utah yesterday when a senior Judge, Douglas Hogan punished the former crypto firm’s pedophile CEO for just 210 days. 210 adds up to around 6 months in prison that too for possessing 13,000 Child abuse & Beastiality files depicting infant/child and animal sexual abuse.

The judge sentenced admitted pedophile and former Utah CEO Douglas Saltsman to 210 days in jail and 48 months probation on Thursday for possessing more than 13,000 files of graphic child pornography, some of which involved rape and bestiality. Saltsman was the founder of a now-defunct blockchain and cryptocurrency company which was based in Sandy.

Saltsman, 40, was originally facing 11 charges related to the seizure of more than 13,000 files of graphic child pornography in August 2019.

The prosecution wanted a 15-year jail term and a $10,000 fine for each of the three second-degree felonies, of which Saltsman had pleaded guilty. The prosecution proved before the judge how Saltsman admitted to viewing and sexually gratifying himself to featured bestiality.

In a rather twisted turn of events for the public and the innocent minor victims of sexual abuse, the judge, however, suspended prosecutions recommendations, giving Saltsman 210 days in jail, saying:

I’m going to suspend the imposition of the statutory terms. I’m going to place Mr. Saltsman on probation with Adult Probation & Parole (AP&P) for a period of 48 months. Consistent with the parties’ stipulated agreement, Mr. Saltsman will serve 210 days in jail. Credit for the time served up to this point is 148, that leaves an outstanding balance to be served. Upon completing the total of 210 days he may be released to Adult Probation & Parole and Supervision. He’s to check in immediately, which means within 48 hours. He’ll be subject to group A sex offender conditions. He’ll need to undergo and complete successfully sex offender treatment and therapy. He will also need to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommended treatment… Mr. Saltsman it’s going to be incumbent upon you when you meet with your probation officer, make sure you completely understand all of those conditions.

What’s shocking about this judgment is that based on the time he has already spent behind bars, he would be released within two months.

Immediately after the news about Saltsman’s light sentencing went out there was a huge outcry. The Utah citizens want Judge Hogan to be removed. They have started a petition to remove Judge Hogan on Change.org, which currently has more than 25,000 signatures. The bar association of Utah has come out in support of Judge Hogan but the sentencing seems to be a travesty of justice.

Sometimes the justice is just blind and deaf!
