Huawei’s latest Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro to run on Android 8.0 Oreo
Huawei to take on Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8 with its own Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro with Hisilicon Kirin 970 and Android 8.0 Oreo with Stylus Support for Mate 10 Pro
One of the most underachieving companies among the smartphone manufacturers is Huawei. Its Android smartphones are top of the line but fail to generate any hype the way Samsung does with its Galaxy S8 release, Apple with its iPhone 8 and iPhone X release and LG with its grand release of smartphones in New York. This Taiwanese smartphone maker has been in the smartphone business as long as you can remember and Huawei fanboys will bet on a Huawei smartphone ahead of Samsung or Apple smartphones.
Huawei has already announced its next flagship Android smartphone called Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. The 6.2-inch smartphone with 1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio (~390 ppi density) will be launched by Huawei before the holiday season starts (probably on October 16, 2017). It will run on Hisilicon Kirin 970Hisilicon Kirin 970 and have Octa-core (4×2.4 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. It will be powered by 6GB RAM and come in 64/128 GB version.
It will have a dual 20MP rear camera and come with the 23MP front shooter for the selfie lowers. The other camera features are f/1.6, OIS, 2x lossless zoom, Leica optics, phase detection & laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash and shoot videos at [email protected] and [email protected]/60fps
For connectivity, the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro will have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, DLNA, WiFi Direct, hotspot and Bluetooth 5.0. Huawei Mate 10 Pro will have a stylus like Galaxy Note series smartphones and the company has been good enough to put the fingerprint scanner at the back of the smartphone for better handling.
Both Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro will Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. This was confirmed by the company on its official Weibo account today. It released a 2-second video showcasing Huawei Mate 10 on Weibo which outlines the new AI-focused Krin chipset that Huawei has been promoting for some time. On the inside of the square, the symbol of the company and the logo of the OS are next to each other.
The image shared by top leaker Evleaks shows the Smart Writing Set stylus at the back of the Mate 10 Pro. This could be one way Huawei wants to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8.
