Yesterdays celebrity Twitter hack leaked images of Twitter access panel which can ban, shadowban, suspend and hide your Twitter account from search with a single click
Twitter has always stated that it does not shadowban accounts or block them from appearing in the search. Yesterday’s celebrity Twitter hack leaked the images of the Twitter admin access panel which shows they can do all of the above with a single click.
You may already know yesterday many celebrity Twitter accounts were hacked for a Bitcoin-related scam in which the hacker managed to collect nearly $119,000.
According to leaked screenshots obtained by Motherboard from sources who took over accounts, it is learned that a Twitter insider was responsible for a wave of high profile account takeovers. The Twitter access panel is a stark example of the issue of insider data access at tech companies.
Whereas in other cases hackers have bribed workers to leverage tools over individual users, in this case, the access has led to takeovers of some of the biggest accounts on the social media platform and tweeted bitcoin-related scams in an effort to generate income.
BREAKING: Alleged leaked pictures from the Twitter admin control panel that was compromised showcase the buttons ‘Trends Blacklist’ and ‘Search Blacklist’, indicating Twitter DOES have the ability to shadowban it’s users.

The leaked images show that the celebrity Twitter accounts were taken over using an internal access tool at Twitter. One of the screenshots shows the access panel of the Binance Twitter account. Binance is one of the top cryptocurrency exchange in the world and one of the Twitter handle which was hacked yesterday. The leaked pictures of the Twitter insider access panel posted by MOTHERBOARD show the buttons ‘Trends Blacklist’ and ‘Search Blacklist’ which means the company has the feature to shadowban its users and block them from appearing in Trends or search.
Now that the truth is out, Twitter is blocking any tweet showing the above image. In fact, it has deleted nearly 150 tweets having the screenshot of the Twitter access panel.
