Google to shut its URL Shortener on April 13

Google the global leader to shut down its URL Shortener on April 13
Google the boss of all search engines having billions of daily unique visitors keeps on getting more smarter and secure. Google recently announced it will kill its URL shortener named goo.gl starting April 13.
Google also asked their users to consider using app-centric Firebase Dynamic Links (FDL) or similar popular services like Bitly and Ow.ly as an alternative.
FDLs are smart URLs that allow one to send existing and potential users to any location within an iOS, Android or web platform. Starting April 13, 2018, anonymous users and users who have never created short links before today will not be able to create new short links via the goo.gl console.
If you have existing goo.gl short links, you can continue to use all features of the goo.gl console for a period of one year, until March 30, 2019, when we will discontinue the console. The goo.gl URL Shortener is very common and was first launched by the search engine giant in 2009.
The goo.gl states “Starting March 30, 2018, we will be turning down support for goo.gl URL shortener. From April 13, 2018, only existing users will be able to create short links on the goo.gl console. You will be able to view your analytics data and download your short link information in CSV format for up to one year, until March 30, 2019, when we will discontinue goo.gl. Previously created links will continue to redirect to their intended destination.”
