Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2 extended by a week due to delay in the launch of Season 3
Fortnite is an online video game developed by Epic Games and released in 2017. It is available in three distinct game mode versions that otherwise share the same general gameplay and game engine: Fortnite: Save the World, a cooperative shooter-survival game for up to four players to fight off zombie-like creatures and defend objects with fortifications they can build. Fortnite Battle Royale, a free-to-play battle royale game where up to 100 players fight to be the last person standing; and Fortnite Creative, where players are given complete freedom to create worlds and battle arenas.
Save the World and Battle Royale were released in 2017 as early access titles, while Creative was released on December 6, 2018. Save the World is available only for Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, while Battle Royale and Creative released for all those platforms, and also for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices. The game is expected to also launch with the release of the next-generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles.
In an effort to get everything ready for Chapter 2 – Season 3, we’re extending Season 2 by one week. The new launch day of Season 3 will be Thursday, June 11. Also make sure to check out a one-time-only live event called The Device, now scheduled for Saturday, June 6 at 2 PM ET (please show up 30 minutes early to help secure your spot, space is limited!).
Said the Fortnite officials
So officially the launch Season 3 of Chapter 2 of Fortnite has been delayed by a week and rescheduled on June 11. Season 2 has been extended to June 6 and also advises you to complete challenges before that.
Before the new Season, don’t forget to complete your Battle Pass Challenges and lock in appearance choices for Brutus, TNTina, Meowscles, Skye, Midas, and Maya. There’s still time to complete the recently-added Location Domination and Storm The Agency Challenges.

What is ‘the Device’ Event?
This new Live Event is happening only once – at 2 PM EST on Saturday, June 6. Epic advises players to arrive 30 minutes early to secure their places, which are apparently limited. Our speculation is that ‘The Device’ event could see Midas turn on his Doomsday Device. However, this would surely mean the end of the world as we know it and lead directly into a new season. With The Device Live Event happening five days before Season 3 is due to begin, that leaves a lot of room to maneuver. We could see a flood take over the world for five days – nothing but water across the map until it washes away five days later to usher in Season 3
