Call of Duty: Mobile has received a couple of updates over the last several months following its release, adding a slew of new maps and modes to keep users engaged in the gameplay. Tencent’s Timi Studios – the developer behind COD Mobile – has now released another major update to the game that comes in the come of COD Mobile Season 8. Below are all the updates and new features added to the game in the latest update:
- New MP Map – Highrise
- New Battle Royale zone – Safehouse
- Season 8: The Forge Battle Pass – New characters, weapons, items and more
- New Mode – Juggernaut – 5vs1
- Events – Days of Summer, Solstice Awakened
- New Operator Skill – Katana
- New Seasonal Challenges
- New merchandise now available in the store
- Various UI updates, weapon balance, and gameplay optimizations
The first notable addition is the new Highrise map with several points of counterattack at a construction site on top of a skyscraper. Highrise a mid-sized map with a mix of office buildings, closed quarters, and open rooftops including a helipad. The New Juggernaut Mode brings a 5 vs 1 gameplay in which five players combine forces to bring down one mighty Juggernaut. The player to annihilate the Juggernaut takes its place and becomes the Juggernaut itself while the remaining players try to take it down. The first player to reach the score limit wins the match.
The third major feature that Call of Duty: Mobile gets with the update is the Katana operator skill that lets you wield the traditional Japanese sword in samurai style. The skill can be activated even through smoke and a single melee attack is enough to strike the enemy down. For the duration that the Katana operator is active, players will go into a third-person view but without any impact on the general vulnerability towards gunshots or any other form of ballistics.
In addition to these changes, the update brings a new short-to-mid range assault rifle, the DR-H, with high damage but high recoil. The update also brings a bunch of new skins, both – common and rare – with the new Season 8 Battle Pass. As usual, there is a variety of items that can be won in the free as well as the paid versions of the Battle pass in Call of Duty: Mobile.
