After Sonam Wangchuk and Milind Soman’s #BoycottChineseProducts, An App ‘Remove China Apps’ from Android smartphone gains popularity
Rising border tensions with China, coronavirus pandemic, and friction with TikTok’s indifferent content policy has lead many Indian’s to question China’s intentions about India. They have voiced concerns about Chinese goods and Apps like TikTok corrupting Indian ethics. Most Indians squarely blame China for spreading the coronavirus epidemic with active help from the World Health Organisation. In fact, when the U.S. President Donald Trump announced that America was leaving the WHO, many Indians requested Indian government to follow suit.
These anti-Chinese product feelings among Indians also got a fillup when Indian Prime Minister Modi gave vocal for local mantra to Indians. PM Modi called on Indians to support Indian products and shun foreign goods as a part of the Atmanirbharat Bharat campaign to revive the Indian economy after suffering huge losses due to coronavirus pandemic.
One such #BoycottChineseProducts call came from a social and education reformer, Sonam Wangchuk. Wangchuk encouraged Indians to drop the use of Chinese software “within a week.” He inspired many like Milind Soman, Bhavna Arora, etc. to uninstall Apps like TikTok from their Android smartphones.

Wangchuk said Indians have the freedom to choose what they spend on with their wallet and if a country doesn’t treat India fairly then they should use boycotts as “personal economic sanctions”. He also suggested that Indians need not depend on cheap Chinese products and look for domestic alternatives.
To take advantage of this anti-Chinese product and a pro-Indian feeling among Indians, a developer, OneTouch Apps Lab has launched an App dedicated to solely removing Chinese Apps from your Android smartphones. The App is called ‘Remove China Apps’ and detects Apps developed by Chinese developers and publishers and gives a one-click option to users to delete them.
The App works with Over The Top Apps like TikTok, News Buzz, etc but doesn’t work with the bloatware shipped with Xiaomi Redmi and Mi smartphones or Oppo/Vivo smartphones.
The Remove China Apps is already very popular among Indians with over 100,000 downloads and a 4.8 rating out of 5 on Google Play Store.
You can download the Remove China Apps from Google Play here.
