Doctors from Nanavati hospital have confirmed Amitabh Bachchan was symptomatic and was self-isolating at home before being taken to the Nanavati Hospital on Saturday evening. Amitabh Bachchan lives in Mumbai, which has been one of the worst-hit cities by the deadly respiratory disease in India, recording 91,745 cases and 5,244 deaths so far, second only to Delhi.

The Bollywood megastar confirmed the news on Twitter and asked all those who have been in close proximity to him to get themselves tested for Covid-19.

Well, Abhishek Bachchan has also tested COVID Positive, having mild symptoms. “Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to the hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you,” Abhishek wrote.

Amitabh was last seen in Shoojit Sircar’s comedy-drama Gulabo Sitabo alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. While the senior actor had been staying at home ever since the lockdown began on March 25, he had recently shot promotional content for the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati and other projects at his home and hence had contact with the production crew who came to his house.

The 77-year megastar was also been admitted to the hospital in late 2019 for minor breathing problems. However, let’s pray for a speedy recovery and lots of strength for our Bollywood superhero for fighting against Covid-19.
