Casio is a Japanese multinational consumer electronics and commercial electronics manufacturing company headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Its products include calculators, mobile phones, digital cameras, electronic musical instruments, and analog and digital watches. It was founded in 1946, and in 1957 introduced the world’s first entirely electric compact calculator.

A YouTuber named ‘Neutrino‘ modified a Casio Calculator to access the internet was later been hit with a DMCA copyright complaint by Cisco. The YouTuber has only 10 videos on his channel but his videos are extremely popular.

The YouTuber has quite interesting videos on his channels that include a Contact-free hand-wash dispenser with Voice Assistance and How to make an IoT LED display [clock]and more exciting stuff.

Neutrino’s device was able to communicate with similar devices nearby and even connect to the Internet. The requirements for the project included a standard Casio calculator, 3.3v regulator, 1 PCB, 1 LED, Resistors,1 esp8266, and esp8266 programmer board.

After desoldering the solar panel and various other steps, Neutrino managed to squeeze an OLED display into space, along with a WiFi module and other goodies.

Casio Calculator trick or a hack to reuse the space occupied by the solar panel and connect to the internet using an esp12E. This hack will help you in fetching data from firebase and as well as text others with a similar calculator.

“I am writing on behalf of CASIO, which is a member of REACT (also known as the Anti-Counterfeiting Network ). REACT actively fights the trade-in counterfeiting products on behalf of its members,” the complaint reads.
